FurChild Company
Discover a purpose that gives you passion. Develop a plan that makes you persistent. Design a preparation that motivates you to optimize your potentials. Do it because you love it!”― Israelmore Ayivor,
Hello!! My name is Sarah. I am a mother, wife, FurMama, lover of all things outdoors and I am so excited to get to know you and your FurChild!
Growing up I always knew I wanted to work with animals. As a young girl I remember saying I wanted to be a veterinarian, but as I got older I realized that I’d get too attached to every animal and it would just be too hard for me. So, CHEERS to the ones who can, and I’ll make them pretty!
When I was 22, I moved out to Colorado to chase after my now husband! After 2 years of living there, I was strolling around PetSmart and wandered past their grooming salon. I then had the thoughts that a) of course, Brutus (my FurChild) deserved a groom, and b) I could TOTALLY do that! He got his groom and I got to talk to the ladies that already worked there. I found out they needed a bather! Boom! I was in!
A few months later, they offered to send me to grooming school. Of course, I accepted! I completed that program and worked for PetSmart for awhile until we moved back home to Michigan.
When we got home I went, into the local grooming salon that my parents were going to, and my mom told them about me! I met them, and started grooming there the next week! I worked for that salon for 5 years before the pandemic hit.
I learned a lot in those 5 years and met some amazing people in the industry.
I have also attended a few canine health and grooming seminars to further my education because this is where I belong.
During those 5 years is when I started FurChild pet sitting. Established September 2018.
My husband and I traveled a lot, and of course, we treat our pets like family so naturally I would always make sure they had the best care while we were away. I wanted to share this love and comfort with my community. With sitters in your home, your pets are calmer and safer. Plus, your home is being looked after as well!
With learning all I have, I took the jump to opening my own salon out of my house during 2020.
FurChild grooming was born!
October 5, 2020 was my very first groom in my little home salon.
Ever since then, I've been learning more and more, and adding my passions into this business.
I will continue to bring the best products and services to my clients that I possibly can, and I promise to treat them with love and kindness.
